2024 Guatemala Trip

Travel Day:
Sunday - July 21st, 2024
2,500 miles successfully traveled!
We left Denver on a 5am flight to Houston where we transferred to a flight to Guatemala City and as you might imagine this doesn’t come without issues but we prevailed and we are here in-country to be the hands and feet for Christ as we rest and prepare for the first build day tomorrow.

Build Team: Concrete Day
A Powerful day of building forms and prepping the site for the mixing and pouring of the concrete. Having a strong foundation set the tone for the rest of the build, without it the rest of the structure will fail. It is hard work but the most rewarding by the end of the day.

Liberty Christian Academy: VBS
Today the school team provided a VBS (Vacation Bible School) for the children which included many fun activities and learning opportunities. All the children and staff had a great time!

Build Team: Framing
Today the fruits of our labor begin to show as the walls come up for the first time. As soon as the walls come up the roof trusses are secured in place and the siding goes up on all exterior walls. It’s an all hands on deck situation and everyone finds a groove.
LCA Team: Staff Day
The LCA school team organized a series of engaging and interactive activities centered around the theme of the armor of God. Through arts & crafts with discussions, the teachers and staff were able to deepen their understanding of this important biblical concept. By embracing a creative approach, the team successfully poured into the staff, fostering a sense of unity and spiritual growth within the school community.

Build Team: Finishing
Not quite the day the house becomes a home, but the final nail is hammered. Siding, roofing tin, interior plywood, doors, windows, and electrical all get finished. As you go through the photos you’ll see a sense of pride from both us and the receiving family.
LCA Team: Giving Back to Mothers
We show appreciation to mothers by giving back to the local community. We gifted roses with inspiring scripture passages to bring comfort and strength. For the young girls, we had fun and creative crafts that bring smiles and create lasting memories.

LCA & Build Team: Dedication
Today the house becomes a home. The day starts with prayer from the local pastor followed by prayer from us, the gifts are presented as well as a Spanish bible. Finally the family receives the keys to their new home and a party follows! today is one of the most rewarding days because we know the family will have a safe and sturdy home for generations to come.
LCA & Build Team: School Service Day
Both the LCA team and build team come together to work on service projects for the school. This included priming the monkey bars and swings, painting benches, building a mulch box for a barrel bull, among other things.
